The house is relatively modern but filled with antiques. The tour is good and there are some interesting pieces. I enjoyed it but understand the comments I have read - will appeal to some but not all. It's free so you have nothing to lose.

We were basically unimpressed with this museum. We didn't find the house itself interesting architecturally, nor were the grounds impressive to us. While there were a few items that were attractive or interesting, mostly the whole thing left us totally underwhelmed. Since the couple who...More

We took the home tour and was in awe with how beautiful the inside of this home is! The family had impeccable taste for antiques and for the way they entertained guests. For the tour you are required to leave your purse in a locker....More

The Rienzi does not have a home (or gardens) as large as Bayou Bend but it is definitely worth visiting. Unlike Bayou Bend, however, this home turned museum still has the furniture and art that was enjoyed by its residents while they lived in the...More

Wow, what a special place! If you like intimate, relaxed, personal museum experiences, the Rienzi is for you. We arrived early and walked the grounds, those open in the winter. We were early for the tour so we were directed to an exhibit about the...More

We have visited the Houston area fairly often in the past couple of years and have had the chance to see many of its highlights. We had never even heard of the Rienzi however until our latest trip. It is a jewel of a museum:...More

My company hosted a client event at the Rienzi. As apart of the MFAH, the docents are very knowledgeable about the family and the house. This was a great venue as it is one of the few hidden gems in Houston.

Located in River Oaks residential neighborhood. Mostly timed, guided tours. Extensive porcelain collection. Beautiful house and grounds.

Lovely treat -- most decorative or historical homes are older. This one is more modern, yet classic.
