Christ Church Cathedral is one of the historical buildings in Houston. While the Anglican congregation was established in 1839, before Texas join the Union, the building was not completed until 1876 and them underwent multiple re-modelings to reach its current state. It is a beautiful building, with a single nave and an altar area separated from the rest of the... More

Just visited here for the first time for a funeral service. It's truly beautiful, with wonderful stained glass over 100 years old. The wood vestry and other parts of the chapel are lovely too.

Ate lunch next door and walked over to the sanctuary. Happened to be in the right place at the right time to have a private tour conducted by one of the pastors. Loved hearing about the fire that nearly destroyed the pulpit area, but was saved by a brave fireman. The wood carvings are spectacular as well as the lovely... More

I was disappointed that the main chapel was closed but spent a good time in the side chapel to cool down from the Houston heat and attain my quiet moment with my Creator. Then I walked to the library area and realised that the church is happy to open the main chapel for me to see. I was so thankful... More

Nothing exceptional. I am used to European churches and this one was quite underwhelming. Don't put any effort into getting there but have a quick look if you are nearby.

Stayed across the street at the Magnolia hotel at a conference. Walked on the grounds and went into the open small chapel. Beautiful grounds and chapel had ornate altar and woodwork. Peaceful place to stop and pray. Worth a visit!
