On our travels we always visit one historical cemetery, so we've seen many. This is the most beautiful we've seen with its rolling green hills, lots of elegant trees and plantings, and numerous VERY impressive statues. In the Spring it's breathtaking, but I'd love to...More

Glenwood is an old-fashioned cemetery with monuments and statuary honoring those buried there. It provides a little of early Houston's history, but more than that, it's a great place to visit for sheer beauty and quiet.

I never thought that I would be reviewing a cemetery but this place really is beautiful! Elegantly landscaped and very serene. Many of the 'names' of Houston have been laid to rest here over the years. Backs on to the Buffalo Bayou trail.

Such a serene & beautiful setting, you forget you're in a cemetery. Apart from the icons & scions of Houston history being laid to rest there, the statuary & monuments are beautiful. Especially Denton Cooley's heart shaped artwook

If it is ok for Howard Hughes I think it is ok for anyone! It is a gem hidden in the city. Beautiful and historical part of Houston!

I've visited numerous acclaimed cemeteries around the country and this one stands out for the elaborate family plots with meticulous manicured spaces and terraces. We spent about 90 minutes looking around. It's a microcosm of landscape and monument architecture.

When my daughter died many years ago of course we didn't have plots or any advance arrangements. I wanted to have her buried there, but at the time did not know much about its rich history. They maintain it so beautifully, and it is such...More

Lovely drive amongst the trees and statues. Winding roads make it challenging to really know where you. Lots of famous folks buried here significant to Houston and Texas. Definitely worth a visit.
