Friendly volunteers direct you around 4 floors of a converted federal court building. Well organized with donations from past residents, looking back at one of the most dynamic towns in Texas history. A good 2 hours spent, including the narrow gauge train exhibit in a separate building on the grounds.

This building houses 3 stories of regional Texas historical information and artifacts from the past. It is well worth the visit.

I love to bring my visitors here and I never tire of it every floor is packed with different collections so there is something for almost every historical interest. It is definitely worthwhile to pay the extra ticket price for the miniature village and toy train building, which is absolutely fascinating. It took the builder almost 30 years to make... More

A great place to find the real roots of Jefferson, the Western side of Caddo Lake, the origin of Lake O'the Pines and local history on the cheap.

There was a lot of local history packed into the old courthouse. We enjoyed our time reading and learning about the local history of Jefferson.

A nice collection of historical things in this museum. We spent a couple of hours and could spend days reading and looking at everything. Being a veteran my admission was free. They also have a archive to research local history.

Can't believe all the neat things in this place. My favorite was the old handicap wheelchair and the civil war items.

We entered thinking it was a museum to the history of the area. It is 4 stories of collectibles from dolls to arrowheads, medical devices to era clothing. The ladies running the museum are friendly and answered questions to the best of their ability.

2 Thank Kris F
