We spent the morning browsing the 3 floors and basement of this quaint museum. Very interesting to see the donations of collections made by families that live in Jefferson. Some short films are also available.

Much better than anticipated. Informative, lots and lots of things to see. The train museum in back is neat, but not sure worth the extra money. We parked here and saw the museum and then walked around town. Neat little town.

There are some good artifact, especially furniture, and rare precious exotic items from Asia, Russia and Europe. The exhibit on pianos was also interesting. also The doll collection is a bit creepy, but overall, it can be more organized and displayed only more refined items.

It appears that local people had some incredible collections of everything from arrow points to dolls to carved ivory which they donated to the museum. It kind of looks like a rummage sale but it is well worth wandering through. There are many interesting things...More

Lots of interesting local history items, and information on local historic personalities. Some Confederacy stuff, but I guess that goes with the territory. Also a fantastic model railroad that we really enjoyed.

My wife and I went to the museum today. It had four floors of a mix of historical items and memorabilia. There was interesting historical information about Jefferson and Marion county, but also random selection of donations from various towns people.

You can't go to Jefferson and not do the ghost tour and visit this enthralling museum. The building is packed with artifacts from Jefferson's long and storied history, and you will want to take your time and learn about each and every thing there.

Every time my family and I go to Jefferson, we always stop here for a visit! They have a wide plethora of historical artifacts that span from about the 1800's onward. There are several fascinating sections but my favorite is the art gallery. I could...More

Make sure to utilize the women's restroom...its absolutely marvelous! So many intriguing artifacts, such as the moustache tea cup! A glimpse of old Confederate monies, guns, surgical instruments, handcuffs, etc. Also a Texas State Flag that has been to the moon!!
