Located on a bluff overlooking city of LaGrange, Tx, you get two totally different pieces of Texas history. The memorial to the members of the Meir and the Dawson Expeditions is a very special place for Texans, their remains were reinterred here. Dawson members were...More

You can no longer just drive up to the memorial. There is a concrete sidewalk up to it and a restroom/picnic area. To see the old brewery, you walk down a path that is paved in some areas, and rocks in others. Many places to...More

Admission is free, but they do ask for a donation. Monument Hill is a great tribute to the fallen Texans who lost their lives in two battles with Mexico. The view from the path of the town of La Grange is amazing. The walk to...More

The grounds were well maintained. The plaques in the monument area were very educational on a segment of Texas history. The Kreische house was very interesting from the outside. Would have liked to see the interior but tours were not available on that weekday.
