There are a few great little places tucked away in the Depot District. It's just a few city blocks in size. Summer nights are pleasant as there aren't too many drunk college-students underfoot. First Friday Art Trail brings that lively summer atmosphere (without as much alcohol) to the Depot District all year long.

Lots of things to do, eat, drink, dance, and sing. Keep your wits about you - there have been some muggings in the area. Cactus Alley always has some neat entertainer in town. Triple J brews their own delicious ales. Numerous places within walking distance for drink and eats. Buddy Holly center is right there also. Look for the little... More

I really enjoy the Saturday farmers market held in the heart of the depot district during August. Some of the vendors have the typical trinkets you find in street fairs but the great part of the market are fresh fruits and vegetables sold by locals. We discovered a type of squash called Patty Pan Squash that I had not eaten... More

If you are a collective of small business owners, most who have been around for quite some time, how do you go about getting the attention of City Hall that in order for downtown to be successful, you have to support the people who are already there? Well, The Depot District has not found that formula yet, and the city... More

We were hear when the school was not in session so we didn't expect it to be busy but it's was pretty much dead. We walked the super small strip with a couple bars and a couple restaurants not much going. I've been here previously for a car show and it was fairly crowded so pick your days right if... More

Not real impressed with the attempt to show off old town Lubbock, needs a lot of TLC but has potential for a great area

When I moved here, I really hoped that I'd love the Depot District. It has a piano bar, which I love, some decent restaurants, and a lot more bars in walking distance. Seemed like the perfect F or Sat night place. But in actuality, it's more of a student hangout, a place where folks can get roaring drunk and find... More
