The museum staff are very helpful and there's an incredible collection of memorabilia. It's well curated and enjoyable to browse through. You can also visit Jerry Allison's house next-door as part of the tour to see where many of the crickets hits were written. Please note there is no photography allowed inside. There is a nice gift shop with some... More

Buddy Holly's influence on modern music was huge. Sadly, his life ended tragically at a young age and that's reflected in the content of the museum. When all is said and done, there's not a lot of things connected to Buddy that can be exhibited. The museum has done a great job in stretching out the material they have and... More

We enjoyed reading all of the events that happened in the life of Buddy Holly. Many things I did not know. If you are a fan of Buddy's you will enjoy.

We stopped in Lubbock just to see the Bubby Holly Museum. We did find out it was open six days a week but closed on Monday. Well you know we were there on a Monday. Sooo we stayed an extra night and enjoyed our visit to the museum. I did think that the gift shop was very overpriced. I did... More

The extremely reasonable $8 admission includes a "fine art" section which we did not see as we were only interested in the Buddy Holly display. Great memorabilia but you cannot take pictures, which was extremely disappointing. This is not a huge museum, more like a selection of very specific items that were either owned or used by Buddy Holly. There... More

I "discovered" Buddy 33 years after his death, so although I wasn't around during his career, his music was as much a part of my youth as anyone from the late '50s. Thus, it was certainly a meaningful experience to see the big things in this small collection. The Allison house was also a real treat, to stand in the... More

This is a must-do for Buddy Holly fans. They have a house tour and a very cool room with many Buddy Holly original items. There is also a very interesting time line that gives a lot of info on Buddy's life! Nice gift shop on site too!

Sweetie and I are in Lubbock for a getaway weekend. Today we headed over to the Buddy Holly museum. I'm old enough to remember him from when I was a young lad. The museum is in a nice building with plenty of parking. Admission is reasonable. It took us about an hour to go through it. It is kind of... More
