The noon "show" about punishing a gossiping woman was entertaining. The town crier got some of the spectators involved with the show.

We took the ferry over from the Royal Navy dockyard first thing in the morning and did a walking tour upon arrival. Our guide was on the ferry and we signed up with her. Our tour ended just in time for us to grab a cold drink before heading over to the water to "see the show". They really go... More

Watching the re-enactment with the town crier was very funny and the audience participation was very funny We felt very sorry for the poor lady who was put in the ducking stool and dropped in the water several times for her crime of gossiping and nagging

We had the opportunity to see St. George's town crier in action, not only at the dunking ceremony carried out during the noon hour at King's Square, but he also showed up to welcome one of the early ferry boats from the Dockyards, providing a bit of information for visitors but from all appearances, many wandered off aimlessly after getting... Well done re-enactment of past practices and a good history lesson. Even if you don't care about the history the actors are fun and funny, with good audience interaction.

Every day at 12:30 PM in St. George's there is a skit that some townspeople put on. It's a "reenactment" of life in the 1700's. The skit has a lady who is branded as a gossip and a nag being led by the town crier to be dunked in the canal. They do a great skit and they play to... More

I was really lucky to visit St George on a day of the dunking re-enactment. The Town Crier started the show with introducing the Mayor outside the Town Hall. We were all encouraged to shake hands & greet the Mayor. I have to say the Town Crier has powerful lungs as he has a lot of information to share &... More

Rather funny and entertaining re-creation of a woman being dunked in the harbor for nagging and gossiping. The crowd loved it. Worth the five minutes and it's free, so why not?

Really great laugh, re-enactment of how gossiping or nagging wife's were dunked by the Bermudian courts. The event starts at 12.30 in the centre and ends with some poor actress getting wet! Plus it's free!!
