Description:

Torrequebrada golf course, in Benalmádena on Spain's Costa del Sol, opened...

Torrequebrada golf course, in Benalmádena on Spain's Costa del Sol, opened in 1976. The course was designed by José "Pepe" Gancedo, one of Spain's most promising amateur golfers, who has since designed many golf courses in Spain, in the rest of Europe and in the States. It is considered one of the best courses in Europe. The Torrequebrada golf course is very conveniently situated at approximately 20 minutes from Malaga Airport, Torremolinos and Fuengirola, and just 10 minutes from Benalmádena and its popular leisure harbour. Entertainment is, therefore, within easy reach after a round of golf. The clubhouse, with its panoramic views and privileged situation overlooking the 18th fairway, provides all the modern facilities that one comes to expect from a golf club of this category. Terraces, reception rooms for private functions, dressing rooms, bar-restaurant, driving range and pro-shop.

One of the best golf courses around Malaga. The pro could not have been more friendly, allowing us to reschedule after we got a little lost. As with a lot of courses around Malaga this is a little hidden gem. Can't wait to get back next year.

Lovely full English breakfast with all the trimmings, cooked perfectly, served by a polite waitress promptly and with curtesy. Great cappuccino, nice and strong! The terrace where we sat has the most amazing view as well over the Med. a lovely quiet spot not yet fully discovered by tourists.

This is one of the older course in the area, some really nice holes, not too difficult to play and excellent views. The problem when we played there was; the greens had been contaminated with sea water and had been re-laid 3 weeks earlier, you can imagine what they were like, uneven, lots of sand and long, still charged full... Yes, Steve, as you mentioned in your message, the course was closed during three weeks as eight of our greens had to be re-laid and certain areas on others due to the high level of salt, which reached us through the waste-water plant. Step by step, as the "mother nature" allows us, the greens are cut shorter and the pace... More

An odd review this one... We were booked to play Torrequebrada this year with our society of 8 players. We play Torrequebrada effectively as our "home" course when we are in Spain because we love it so much. We arrived to be informed that the course was closed, something that we were not aware of before travelling to Spain. As... More

Great course ? Unfortunately it's over priced , as usual they overprice the Buggies , if they priced it a little lower you would have.a Queue from the course to Malaga to play it. As a one off it you should play anymore it's to expensive , a great course going to waste nobody's there .

Thanks for your review! In your message you do not state when you visited the course but as it was posed now we suspect you visited us the last weeks. The reason that you found the course empty, was that it was closed between September, 26 and October, 16th to improve the state of our greens (eight of them were... More

On February 6th, 1971 astronaut Alan Shepard became the only man to play golf on the surface of the Moon, having smuggled a six iron and balls aboard Apollo 14. Over 45 years later, 4 middle aged men repeated this feat at the Torrequebrada Golf Resort (Torrequebrada translated from Spanish means "Lunargolf"). While it was mentioned on arrival in that... We played as fourball at Torrequebrada on Sunday 25th September, the day before the course was to be closed for 3 weeks to address the well documented (see other reviews) state of the greens. I understand that this was an issue that was caused by special circumstances outside the control of the golf club. However my issue relates to the... More
