Excellent for vistas and woods alike, with a charming lake in the middle. Awesome for both hiking and biking (I've done both) and a nice country looking spot in the middle of an urban area. I visit frequently

Oak Point is a beautiful jewel in the east side of Plano. Lots of trees as well as wide open spaces, water, and other things to do (zipline, etc).

The trails range from concrete and very safe to dirt for those who want a bit more adventure and workout. Always a quiet place to walk and contemplate.

Large nature preserve with nature trails in the woods. Well managed by the City of Plano Parks Dept., easy to get there, plenty of parking, lots of "stuff" to do. Was there at sunrise and watched the hot air balloons over the lake.

This park is a perfect example of how to integrate a green area to make life better for the surrounding residents and visitors. Unless you're a hardcore extreme sport fanatic looking for a place no one's ever been before, there's a little something for most everyone including fishing, hiking, bike riding, dog walking, horseback riding, ball fields and trails and... The first time I went to the park to gather INTEL for blading, there was a HUGE triathalon happening. Imagine the restrictions...and it was not a problem at all. This preserve is large with a myriad of trails and services so that there is something for everyone. Easy access parking for playground, restroom facilities, shelter for young families and those... 80 acres of wildlife in East Plano. Great trail for cycling, running and walking. Also you can zip line and hiking trail as well.

This is a very nice trail system through wooded and shaded area. It makes for great hike even in July. Be aware that the trail system on the left and right side of the creek on not directly connected. You would have to go to one or the other end of the trail system to get across. We ended up... More

We attended a wedding here so we used the area around the main building which was very clean, newer looking, and nicely landscaped. We had a wedding on a hill sloping behind the facility and a very nice scenic backdrop with the lake and walking/bike trail. The building we used for the reception was very nice and served our purposes... More

I gave Oak Point 5 stars not because it's the greatest hiking in the world, but instead because of its location. Close to 75, Oak Point is the best hiking experience you're going to find in North DFW. There are several miles of trails through the woods and several additional miles of paved trails that allow cycling as well. If... More
