great place for people visiting TX

I operate a B&B in Katy and advice all non-Texans to visit, especially international travelers. They all love it.

We really enjoyed what we were able to see- but unfortunately we weren't able to get into 50% of the attractions as the tours were full of school children (each tour had a 25 person limit- and we arrived at some houses to find three tours ahead of us!) We felt this should have been made clearer on the website.... More

We came across information about this on the internet and didn't really know what to expect. We arrived at about 10.30am on a week day and, although the car park was virtually empty, there were 3 school buses there. We paid our $9 (OAP) each entrance fee and were given a map and explanation by the very helpful lady on... More

It was awesome! May not have thought I'd like the food but it was very good. My husband and I walked around and spoke with the "reenactors". Very friendly and simple like us. Perfect day!

The overall site is very well maintained and had it not been raining during our visit some of the outside demonstrations might have been able to done involving the ranch Cowboys and animals. The period homes were open and were interesting. The hosts and hostesses were good at telling the story of each home. The exception to those period role... More

I didn't know what to expect when my sister suggested it but it sounded nice, it was so much better than I expected, we took a 3 month baby in a carrier you wear which meant we could do all the houses and use the tractor train easily. Others had buggies which are a must if you plan on walking... More

We visited here on a very cold day in January so there were not many visitors. We walked around the site although there is a trolley available. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Really good set up and the historical guides were interesting with lots of information. Great day out and well worth the visit.

We took a day trip out to George Ranch while staying in Houston. There are four homes on George Ranch, each belonging to a different generation of the same family. The characters in each home who spoke about 'their' lives made for an interactive day, without it feeling like a museum trip. The setting itself is beautiful, and as a... More

We did this as a walking tour though they had a driver and wagon available at many intervals. At each house we got to hear the story of the George family, starting with the very beginnings in the dog-trot house. We walked the paths to the next house and then heard about the next phase of the growth of the... More

At first I thought $10 to enter might be too much. I'd gladly pay $20! This place is extremely interesting. There is a lot to see there. Best for adults I think that have appreciation for this kind of thing. The docents were really knowledgeable and it is a fascinating way to spend the day. I really recommend it!
