This river has amazed me since I was just a toddler. We took our yearly summer vacation in the New Braunfels/San Marcos area. Dad would drive us all around the river road and we would stop at each crossing, wade in the water, and skip...More

The river in San Marcos is crystal clear and a cool 72 degrees year round. The atmosphere is family friendly and super. Tube rentals available in the summer with pick-up service to bring you to the starting point. Wonderful place to spend the day.

Went tubing here with members of my extended family. It was a blast. Nice, easy, lazy current. Water flow is slow, but steady. Lasted three hours and the current picked up after the first hour. A nice easy ride.

Formerly known as Aquarena Springs, they have a fantastic nature center and Glass Bottom Boat Tour. We saw scuba divers working in the lake.

Great river with tons of memories. We did not float but siting along the banks was pretty nice and water flow looked good.

Nice cool water in the hot summertime, tube rentals are a must! You can tie your tubes together with your own rope and you can take your cooler to enjoy your ride down the river.

The river is the only reason you need to visit San Marcos. Nothing beats a hot summer/spring/autumn/winter day at the river, yeah it is always hot here.

They monitor the river flow. If it is flowing too fast, it is not safe on river. I would expect the hurricane and its slow move would drop much rain in area that tubing the river may be prohibited. I would continue... More

Yes you may. Even better get a tube with a bottom and tie it to your tubes. Viola!
