We were totally impressed with the this Architectural Wonder and how it was built. Charles Mead, the tour guide was extremely informative and we walked away a little more enlightened with the history of our great state!! Southern ingenuity at it's finest!

I'm so glad my husband found this gem for us to visit on our trip to the Hill Country. I thought to myself what could be interesting about a concrete house. Boy was I so wrong. Thanks to a wonderful tour by Charles, we learned so much of history and came away with such an appreciation for this historic site.... More

We had a great time at The Sebastopol House. Charles Mead was our your guide and this man was amazing. He knows all about the town of Seguin.

The Sebastopol House is certainly worth a visit. It has real history behind it, and a marvelous docent to provide all kinds of in-depth information. The one negative thing I would say about my visit there is that the subject of slavery is merely glanced over. There are pictures of slaves building the house, and the "task master" standing over... The Sebastopol House is worth visiting even if all you get to do is walk around the outside, but on a tour you'll learn about the room with no entrance and you'll discover that the roof isn't really flat. You'll see how the house was constructed with layer upon layer of limecrete. Mr. Mead, the guide, is ready to share... More

The Sebastopol House is the probably the most interesting and historical site in the city of Seguin. To get a private tour, my group and I went through the Seguin Convention & Visitors Bureau. There was so much history to learn about during this tour. The tour guide was very passionate and seemed to know the history of this site... More

We did not get to experience the tour because they were closed when we arrived. You might call ahead since we visited during the business hours of 9-4 pm. We arrived at 11:50 on Friday 2/26 to find the sign reading next tour at 1pm and the house closed. We could enjoy quite a lot looking through the windows as... More

The guide was extremely well versed in the details of this historical house, from its significance to its architecture to the contents. We were fortunate to stop there on a slow day so had him all to ourselves. We spent nearly two hours there and were enthralled every minute. Well worth the stop!

If you like architecture, you will find this house interesting. We were too late for a tour but enjoyed walking the grounds.
