I wrote a previous review about Schlitterbahn about a week ago but my pictures were not included. I told the wonderful story about the rescued burned prehistoric Loblolly pine forest and how it was milled to make this Schlitterbahn. Over 3 miles of rope from dozens of former ships was used to wrap structures. Many discarded sports structures were refurbished... More

We have never been to any other Schlitterbahn parks but this one was perfect for our family, my 9 and 10 year old loved the different attractions and we spent a great day there! We went on a Saturday IN September and they lines weren't too bad. Bring water shoes, sunscreen, towels, and your own food because the food was... More

South Padre is a beautiful place but everyone in the family can enjoy a visit to Schlitterbahn. Highly recommended.

The "indoor water park" is really just 1 water slide and a lazy river. There is a small area for very small children but nothing more than that. And it advertises to be a heated waterpark which is NOT true. If you are not staying at the hotel you are forced to park in a field and walk down a... More

Jenbriecory, Thank you for taking the time to post regarding your visit. While I am disappointed that you did not more enjoy your stay, I hope you consider a return during our summer season when the outdoor park is also open, featuring an additional two dozen attractions, slides and chutes. For all of those that read these reviews, I must... More

We come here year after year and it's always the same thing with the shortage of tubes. They don't really enforce the rule of keeping tubes in the water so you usually have to spend the first 30 min to an hour of each visit looking around for the tubes for smaller kids. I would think they would address this... More

John S, Thanks for being a regular at the park and I appreciate the feedback. We have made great strides in guaranteeing an abundance of tubes this year, but occasionally we come up short in our efforts and for this I apologize and can assure you this is a top priority for nest summer's season. We were truly blessed to... More

I took the kids and was very surprised at how small the park was. It was not crowded and we went on all of the "rides" in about 30 minutes. The park is nothing like the one in New Braunfels. Not recommended.

Son & husband chose to spend a day here on this visit. They had never been, and they said they had a great time. It was a good time for them to spend some quality time together, & sometimes doing separate things.

I have been to South Padre Island at least once a year for about the past 8 years. But, this past summer I finally went to Schlitterbahn...a place I had avoided, thinking the last thing I wanted to do was go to a beach and hang out at a water park! Boy was I wrong...Schlitterbahn South Padre Island is a... More

South padre island schlitterbahn is perfect for families with young children. We took our 7, 5 , and 2 year old. The older two had been before but it was the 2 yrs Olds first time. Park was perfect. Not too crowded and the rides were age appropriate. We didn't but you can always bring in your picnics and drinks,... More
