We always, when staying at Rose Hill Manor, go to Pedernales. This is a great opportunity to sample some different wines prior to purchasing some. Gift items are unique and a small selection of food is available. After tasting some of the wines, be sure to purchase a bottle (which the willing staff will open for you), get a snack,... More

Thanks for visiting again. It is lovely to sit on the patio and share a bottle with friends and family, especially when the weather is nice as it has been this holidays. Do visit again! More

My wife and I are Texas wine lovers and take 2-3 day trips to different wineries about 6 times a year. We are Pedernales Wine Club members. They consistently produce some of the best wines in Texas, especially their reds. As far as white, we enjoyed their 2015 Reserve Viognier. Their reserve wine tasting is spectacular (you even drink in... More

Thank you for being wine club members. I am glad you appreciate our wines, and have taken the time to do the reserve tasting. It does get crowded on weekends - though January is a quieter month. If you can't come during the week, Sundays are usually quieter than Saturdays. If you have any service suggestions, please ask to talk... More

Pedernales Cellars has more wine choices since I was last there. Furthermore, they have been included in several best of Texas wines list. But my favorite thing there is the seasonal Glog they offer at the holidays.

Thank you for visiting again. We have the Glogg in the tasting room from late October to early January. I am glad you enjoy this seasonal treat. Pick up bottles now, because it will soon be sold out. More

My family and I decided to spend Christmas in Fredericksburg this year. And, like many other times, we thought we'd stop by and do a wine tasting and purchase a couple of our favorite wines. Well, much to our disappointment, there was only one wine server who was so caught up in her conversation with two other customers/friends talking about... More

I am very sorry to hear about your experience in our tasting room. I will discuss the incident with the tasting room manager, because you should have received more professional customer service. Thanks for alerting us to what happened when you visited. I hope the rest of your holidays are enjoyable. More

Pedernales Cellars makes some of the best wines in all of Texas, and has been doing so since I started touring the Hill Country a few years ago. I have never has a bad or flawed bottle from them, and many of their offerings are outstanding. The tasting room service was nothing to write home about, especially during my last... More

Went to Fredericksburg for a girls getaway, and although my long-time friend loves wine, she'd never done a wine tasting or visited a winery. For me, I'd done wine tastings and winery tours before, but never in Texas. We are not wine snobs. Just two ladies who love wine and wanted to explore and learn about Texas wines. I'm not... More

I'm reviewing the wine more so than the winery. Pedernales has some strengths that few reviews mention. Having many food intolerances and being sensitive to pesticides and many additives often included in winemaking processes, I find it difficult to find wine that I love that I'm also able to drink. I'm familiar with the winemaking process of Pedernales and am... More

Thanks for writing about the winemaking process at Pedernales Cellars. Our winemaker, David, is very concerned about avoiding additives that can cause allergic reactions. His wife is very sensitive to food allergens and she very often acts as the canary in the coal mine in order to ensure that the largest number of people can enjoy our wines. Cheers! More

We tried this winery because it was adjacent to our B&B and we were given a certificate for two free tastings. I'm so glad we were enticed to visit because the wines were wonderful, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable and even though we showed up about 20 minutes prior to closing we were not rushed or made to feel... On a wine tour of 280 highway to. Fredericksburg. Tasting expensive but it seems they are all $15. Order a bottle or glass you can taste before buying. Do not overdue this. Beautiful setting amount trees with a view of hills on horizon. Peaceful setting next to rose manor b&b.

Very knowledgeable staff. This is a smaller winery with a shorter list of wines, but what they made was overall pretty good. We went on a Monday and it was laid back. We relaxed out on the large deck overlooking the countryside after we joined the wine club and purchased more to take as presents to family as Christmas presents.... More
