We didn't see the beach because it costs money to enter. If we had had more time, perhaps we would have driven up Blue Water Highway to an open beach.

Though the city and beach management do their best, this beach is sadly wrought with trash left by the people shaped animals who do not pick up after themselves. It was filthy during our visit. Like spending the day at a landfill by the ocean....More

The beach is really pretty with fine, light tan sand but very few shells. It was super hot but the breeze off the gulf helped a lot. Walked out from the Oceanview hotel at 7:AM and access, the views, and places to stake our claim...More

Definitely The best beach in TX. Was kept clean and seaweed was cleaned up. A lot of people fishing but were respectful of the swimmers. My family will only be visiting Surfside from now on.

Long stretch of sandy beach. Less crowded than Galveston. Great surf for paddle boarding or long board surfing. Also great for kiddos of all ages.
