This is a small state park with some nice color rock formations. The visitor center at the turnoff has some interesting displays but not a must stop before visiting the park. When we arrived all of the camp sites were full. We drove thru the...More

We spent a day in the park as we were traveling along highway 12. We did Angel’s palace trail which gave some great views of the park. It is a quiet park with less visitors than the other big parks. Definitely recommend if you are...More

We visited Kodachrome in September when driving Scenic Byway 12 from Bryce Canyon to Capitol Reef. It's located 9 miles south of Cannonville; turn south on Main St. which becomes Kodachrome Rd. (road is paved and also passes a tourist information center for Grand Staircase-Escalante...More

We decided to seek out this unusual place after seeing the signs along the highway beyond Bryce Canyon. We arrived later in the afternoon hoping for a full color display, but the colors were muted by the heavy cloud cover. Otherwise the rock formations are...More

Excellent trail system with varying degrees of difficulty, still hikable even in winter. Beautiful introduction to the red rocks country. Good campsites, nice visitor center.

We stayed here fo two nights in summer 2017. We skipped the nearby Bryce Canyon to avoid the crowds. Kodachrome Basin is a very quiet and beautiful spot. Amazing rocks, spires and natural bridges. The campsites at the main Basin Campground are very large with...More

Added this side trip on our visit to Bryce. The Panorama Trail is easy and worth the time to hike. Lots of great highlights along the trail.

We had never heard of this park until we saw some signs pointing to it. We decided to give it a look. It was a cold day in February. It was wonderfully peaceful. We didn't see a single other person. The rock formations are very...More

We visited just before Christmas and so had the entire park to ourselves. We explored several trails and found the monoliths quite amazing and the area very photogenic. It's worth the drive there.

I would have to recommend Bryce if you only have time for one of the two parks. The scenery at Bryce is of a unique nature and on a scale that is hard to match. Bryce is also well suited to driving through in that there is... More

Hi, I stayed one night last April. It is a camp - not a motel. Tents and RV's. Electric outlet in public facilities only. Scenery pays for everything.

Hi, I have no idea, we were there only for a few hours, but did not see any dogs. This is a Utah State Park, maybe their website has that info. Leo
