Digging for trilobites was one of the highlights of my trip. Robin, the manager made our experience exciting and successful. We spent the morning splitting slate to expose trilobites and other 500 million year old fossils. Every member of our group was successful in finding...More

As other reviewers have pointed out, a visit to this quarry requires a 20 mile drive down a gravel road. Don’t let that discourage you! We made the drive without issue traveling in a 24ft class C motorhome. The road is fairly well graded...only a...More

Drove three hours and then some from SLC, very much worth it! I'm not a rock hound or a fossil hunter, but found it a mighty cool thing to do. Operator was extremely helpful and friendly, and except for the heat, I could have poked...More

Great experience digging trilobite fossils abundantly present in the site's shale. Robin, the on-site guide, was most helpful in showing technique and performing post-processing clean up. Robin's work was especially helpful in reducing the excess matrix our finds so that our finds fit in a...More

If you like fossils, U-Dig is an incredible place. We paid for 4 hours and cracked rock the entire time. Found about a dozen decent trilobites plus sea sponges and algae. It is an experience you'll never forget!

Exceeded expectations. I was excited to go with my three children to look for trilobites since we'd looked for them at other locations and hadn't found any. We checked in with Robin. He gave us an orientation. He walked us down to the pit and...More

Whole family had a great time digging for trilobites! Robin was terrific! He showed us what we were looking for and how to dig/break rocks. He spent time identifying our finds and polishing/cutting several of them for us. Highly recommend for the whole family!

The gravel road into the place is one of the better maintained dirt roads we've been on. It had a few roller-coaster dips but we traveled a good speed the whole way. You will get hot and dusty so a hat and sunscreen are recommended....More
