The Meandering Canyon is quite scenic. Wildlife are all around. We saw a few deer, and some unusual birds in the stream. We hiked this trail in the winter when there was frozen ice in the stream, and that made for some interesting photographs. It...More

Amazing hike, beautiful waterfall. The temperature was around 117. We had taken plenty of water and started early. Best to be off trail by noon, or spend all day at the waterfall and hike out in the evening when the sun goes down on hot...More

We hiked the Calf Creek Falls trail in December and while it was cold, it was still an amazing hike. The views were amazing and we enjoyed seeing the pictographs and granary. The only thing I didn't like was the sand. Most of the hike...More

Great hike with lots of great scenery to look at. It was about 6 miles round trip but the waterfall at the end was amazing. I did the trip right after noon. I took my time walking the easy to fallow trail, taking many pictures...More

This is a relatively easy hike with big rewards! The trail is around 6 miles round trip from the parking lot and mostly flat. The only hard part is that the trail is almost all sand. There is a brochure you can pick up at...More

I did the Lower Calf Creek trail three years ago. If you have done neither the lower or upper trail, do the lower one. It is a very easy flat trail with a stunning waterfall and cold pool at the destination. The only advice, apart...More

Absolutely loved this hike! It's not strenuous, though the terrain changes multiple times. You'll walk across sand, over rocky areas, through overgrown brush, past bamboo and it is all amazing! The waterfall at the end is breathtaking. You need to just sit, unpack the snacks...More

It was 3 miles hike to the fall, narrow trail with little sandy. Very easy to walk, just a few climb on the rock. The view of the fall is the reward for hiker. Water was cold in Oct, but very calm. There is flat...More

Beautiful hike and beautiful falls, but of course, heavily traveled. It is a nice easy day trip with a refreshing water fall & pool to relax near for lunch.

I believe you can to the trailhead but, the rest is on feet. Bring plenty of waters. It’s a bit of a trek.

There are 14 campsites right there. Looks like you can write, call or email to inquire about the site. Not sure if they take reservations, or if it's first-come, first-serve. Hope this helps! Escalante Field Station PO Box... More
