Discover Park City's history at the Park City Museum on Historic Main...

Discover Park City's history at the Park City Museum on Historic Main Street. Prospectors discovered silver in 1868 in the area that soon after became Park City. Mine owners made fortunes, while thousands of miners simply made a living. After silver prices declined, Park City reinvented itself as a ski resort town. Interactive displays tell the Park City story in an engaging manner. Fun for the whole family! Open 7 days a week (Mon-Sat 10-7, Sun 12-6).

We've never been because there's nothing there but an old fire truck and we know the limitations of the building so there's not much else to be seen. We are not thrifty but we are also not foolish, after living there for years, to see a tourist trap.

This is an impressive though small museum that presents the history of the area in an engaging way. This is a fun way for children as well as adults to learn about the history of the area and get a close up look at mining. The museum is well organized and does a good job preserving the rich history of... More

We stopped by the museum after visiting this area for years and I would have to say that it is a very good snap shot of Park City's start to where they are today. Afterwards we took a food and history tour which really complimented the information we learned while visiting the museum. Very interactive and informative.

The three story high model silver mine is amazing! There are lots of hands-on interactive exhibits. I thought the old jail in the basement was interesting, as were the old mining cars and elevator.

We did not actually good in the museum proper but enjoyed the bookshop and the friendly staff who gave us advice on sights to see. The museum seemed a bit on the expensive side for what looked like a bunch of furniture but I am sure it has hidden depths that are revealed to history lovers. Very convenient.

This place is a must for the traveling History Buff or a good activity for anyone taking a day off from the slopes. A few interactive exhibits and some good engaging video exhibits covering Park City from pre Civil war through the mining boom, up to its transition to a ski and movie festival hotspot. Might be a little slow... More

Well-crafted explanations and displays for Park City history built around the themes of silver mining, saloons & celebrities of the day, start of the ski industry, and the Sundance Film Festival. It all started with silver mining in the 1870s -- the cross-sectional model of a typical silver mine and its operations is outstanding. I did not realize that there... More

this little town has a great history story told very well at the museum. It's very interesting about how the mining changed to the ski industry.

One of the highlights of the trip t Park City. What a great experience learning about this great city. Interactive things are fun as well. Make sure you see the jail, most wanted book and the movie in the original ski lift/train. What a great value as well. Thank you!
