Went to Antelope Island today. There is a nice little visitor center including a gift shop. We enjoyed the video about the Island. We drove around the island and saw plenty of antelope and buffalo. We are looking forward to maybe doing some camping out there when it warms up. Worth the time.

Easy drive to the island and much to see in these wide open spaces. Visit the ranch it is well worth the drive. Saw a bison just a few feet from the road. You will notice the Midges a small non biting bug. We got the car washed about two miles east of the entrance to the park. The bugs... More

Lots to do on the island. There are many hiking trails with a variety of difficulties. Wildlife (the bison are basically a guarantee) and of course, access to Great Salt Lake.

On a clear 70 degree day we were surprisingly hot during our visit. Bring hats, sunscreen, and tons of water - there is no shade! My kids enjoyed splashing in the water, though the trek down to the receding lake is rather long for little ones. They had fun completing the Junior Ranger booklets and getting their badges at the... Stunning! So glad we took the time to drive out and explore. Would love to have had a couple days to hike & bike. Craziest bug swarms I have every seen but they were not biting, just around. We visited end of March. So pretty & green, flowers blooming.

We needed a break day from skiing between park city and the cottonwood canyons. Dino-monument is too far, and we didn't want to another church in SLC. So when I read about the wildlife at Antelope island, our decision was made. We were not disappointed. We saw tons of wild buffalo, antelope, huge flocks of ducks eating the brine flies... More

I had a spare day so decided to drive over to Antelope Island. It cost $10 per car to get in. Once in the Island you can drive around the east coast and look out for the Bison. I visited the range which was great with many hands on artefacts. I the took a walk up one of the mountain... More

We spent a few hours here and it is well worth a stop. There are a lot of great hikes and the scenery is amazing. If you have young children they will love the ranch on the island. There is a lot of wildlife watching. Definitely a must stop if you are in the area.

This was our first trip to the SLC area and on our final day we wanted to go to Antelope Island State Park. It was amazing! Buffalo were everywhere, the sunset view was incomparable, and we enjoyed yummy burgers at the grill and ate it at a picnic table by the water. A family camping trip here is next on... More

We had a couple of days around our ski trip, and were lucky enough to find this place. It is the ideal antidote to civilization. Admittedly we hit great weather: 50's with no wind. We hiked up to the ridge for stunning views of the lake, planes approaching SLC, and wildlife. The remains of a farm was a fun hands-on... More
