This is a wonderful day trip through geological time. Unfortunately the smoke from the CA fires obscured the views and vistas, but we've been here before and love it.

Off the beaten path, but totally worth it for the views. Along the way, stop at Red Fleet, Red Canyon, Flaming Gorge Dam to see some more spectacular views and geological formations.

We had a great ride in the loop from south to north, no wildlife spotted but great formation and I bet from Yellowstone to Moab a good first encounter of geological beauty.

Great place to see the various layers of rock that have moved around over the past few millions of years. The results are just fantastic, and sort of out of this world. Absolutely a must if you are in the Flaming Gorge region.

Unfortunately, the road was chained off about 5 miles in so we cannot comment about the entire road. Must not be the season yet. However, what we saw was more than amazing. We also saw BigHorn sheep, wonderful gurgling streams and the majestic canyon walls....More

We had the misfortune of taking the loop and it was closed a few miles up the road Wrong time of year. But what we were able to see was fantastic. We will make a trek back when the loop opens.

I have ties to the Bennett Ranch in that my Grandfather, Charles Norris, who summered there with his Wife Nell in the 1950's. He built the BBQ that still stands today! (See Pictures). The Loop is one of the most striking, picturesque place in Utah....More

One of the best drives in utah. Red rocks that you could reach out and touch. There is an app available that explains different aspects of canyon. It's free and worth listening to while going through canyon. Don't miss this drive. It's a must do.

We camped at the Sheep Creek campground and followed this trail without knowing anything about it. The views are great and it is a beautiful drive. We saw eight big horn sheep, deer, cattle and lots of chipmunks. It was snowing as we came up...More

Looked this loop up on the net, and glad we took it. What beautiful a ride. Scenery changes all the time. Well worth taking.
