A museum of folk life and living history from 1820 - 1920, the American West Heritage Center specialized in hands-on, interactive fun for all ages: youth – seniors. Through Daily Adventures in the summer and special events throughout the year, it is Logan Utah’s most populated attraction--a blending of arts, history, heritage, and old-fashioned fun. It boasts very friendly staff, pony rides, train rides, and a petting zoo, as well as many other attractions.

What an experience! Great for the whole family and those passing through. They have 3 main sites; Mountain Man, Pioneer and a 1917 Farm site. Each site offers different activities and is facilitated by an interpreter, wearing clothes fit for the time period. It is a unique hands-on experience, from milking the cow to throwing the tomahawk, there is something... More

Visited with my wife and 9 year old grandson. A nice combination of modern visitor center and historic farm buildings in a beautiful setting. Some interesting exhibits and decent gift shop in the visitor center, which is staffed by friendly people. A fascinating lecture about farm kitchens of 100 years ago in an old house on the grounds, and a... More

We live near here and bought a pass so we could go frequently. In the summer they have their Pioneer and Old West exhibits out. Some employees are around in period costume. You can pan for gold, visit a Pioneer dugout and cabin, an Indian teepee, ride on a miniature train, take pony rides, visit an early 1900s Farm, a... More

We are in Logan to attend the Summer Citizens Program at USU. Two of my grandsons both 11 came up from Phoenix to spend a couple of weeks with Nana & Ta Ta. We thought it would be a good idea to take them here and it worked out well for all of us. The facility itself is not overwhelming... More

There is a lot to do and much that will interest the young and young at heart. There is quite a vast area to cover but many areas to sit if needed. The bison area was not open but they could be viewed from the entrance. There are many demonstrations going on with folks in period clothing very willing to... More

We visited the American West Heritage Center 15 years ago when it was run as a history laboratory by the local University. At that time, they had students living on the farm experiencing what farm life in the early 19th century in the American west was like. It was a history lesson touring the grounds and watching the students work.... More

I help out a lot with the center. They are a great group of people that work hard to make sure people enjoy their time at the farm. My favorite time is the fall. They have a huge corn maze with wagon rides, hot cider, mini kids maze, bond fires, bb guns, and a spook alley for the older kids... More

I went here for baby animal day last April, it was rather fun and I was able to find everything easily. I cant wait to be able to bring my daughter with me this year.

This is a beautiful stop in Utah out of Wyoming if heading toward Salt Lake City or vice versa. A nice welcome center greets you on the property. There are actually genuinely nice people who work there who are truly happy that you visit. It's a living history stroll outside the welcome center showing the old West.

Summer camps are always a hit here. A great peek how things used to be done. I actually volunteered to make soap the old school way. After standing over an open fire in a long dress in the middle of summer I realized how much I love technology.
