Stunning and dramatic! Hiking trails, water sports, scenery. Not to be missed!

Even if you have time only for a drive-by, you must go! Lake Willoughby is absolutely beautiful! There is a small general store for snacks, etc. Don't forget your camera!

Always a great time to visit the lake, whether it's for an afternoon swim on a hot summer day, or for a photo shoot at sunset the area does not disappoint.

A great place to visit swim and hike. Stay at the local inn, and hike one of several mountains around the lake. The lake is colder than most lakes because it is very deep.

Foliage was out of this world, the lake was so peaceful. Sat by the lakeshore with a bottle of wine to watch the sunset. Pretty much perfection.

Gorgeous, rustic remote area of Northeast Kingdom. Lots of outdoor activities. Beautiful scenic lake surrounded by mountains.

Clear water, easy free kayak accessibility at sandy areas at both ends and at a boat launch mid way .. Great (moderate) hiking with Mount Pisgah on one side and Mount Hor on the other - Pisgah steeper and more dramatic, Hor a bit shorter and still worthy views from 3 lookouts.

The lake was absolutely beautiful. Crystal clear water; the water temperature was quite tolerable. My friend and I kayaked, canoed, fished and swam all week. Our down time was spent just relaxing on the shore drinking in the beauty before us. Well worth the 4.5 hour trip.

We approached from the west and saw willoughby at its most dramatic. It's a lovely place. My extended family had rented there for many years twenty years ago and wanted to know how and if it had changed. I was happy to oblige as I was in the northeast kingdom. It's worth a visit. There are good places to stay... More

Lake Willoughby is great but it is not in East Burke. It is in Westmore, VT It is a beautiful place to paint en plein air
