I stopped here for just one reason-the Ironwood Nature Trail. Other than that, it has a beach, a nature center, public rest rooms, and a campground. I only took in a small part of the nature trail, just enough to go for a short walk, but it was pleasant.

Gorgeous park. We camped at a lean to site, our site was private with a fire ring, clean bathrooms. Iron Wood Nature Trail on site is beautiful with boardwalks, very peaceful and easy hike. Beautiful views of Lake Champlain everywhere. Had a great experience

We went here after tourist season, so it was closed for camping and the facilities were closed too, but they allowed us to walk around. Beautiful colors in fall. Creepy foggy lake was amazing! We had a great time on our walk with our kids chasing the chipmunks.

I took my son and his friend (14 & 15yrs old) camping for a week. We stayed in Juniper (Leanto) and there was a unofficial path directly to the beach which was nice for the boys to have. Park was clean, most sites aren't huge but are flat and shaded. Staff was friendly and helpful. We had kayaks and launched from the boat launch the first time and ended up keeping them off to the side down near the beach area the entire week. very convenient.

we went camping for 2 nights.I was able to use their wifi. The campsite where we were at was near the lake.I wasn't able to swim as the swimming area was too rocky...Im glad We went to the Alburg Dunes State Park the next morning.Oh that place was awesome. They have sandy beach and Iwe enjoyed our time there. It get so busy so plan to go early as parking can be hard to find.It is free entry as long as you camp to the any Vt. park.We also visited the knight point.Sandy but it is also rockt :( i didn;t swim. There some other places to check out. There is the Ed Weed Fishery but don;t waste your time there..nothing to see beside tiny fish. They are growing for the next couple of years for fish stocking to any ponds.Stop by at the Hyde log cabin and check it out.You gotta keep yourself busy as there's not many things to do at the campground but maybe if you have your own boat you wont get bored.Walmart was 30minutes away and there is no nearby store so get all the things you needed before you go camping.Enjoy your stay all of you!

The location is nice - right on Lake Champlain. However, there are few services. Cell is available, but no electricity and limited washrooms.
I would NOT go out of my way to visit.

Nice campground, go for the larger sites at the upper loop 80+. For the amt of campers restrooms and showers are kept fairly clean.
The big issue with the air quality is there is factory farming nearby and they thickly spread a chemical manure mix on the fields next to the park. It's quite stinky. Also, first time we experienced nearly every campsite using thermacells regardless whether the campers were onsite or not. It was very noticeable even though we didn't use them, we experienced headaches and burning and itchy noses from it. Then a slight mist came in over the camp keeping the campfire smoke and thermacells odor near the ground we were coughing in our tent. It was horrible. We left the campground and slept in a parking lot in the village.
Parks need to be aware of their air quality. They need to understand we go camping to be in FRESH, CLEAN air.
We departed early despite having remaining days on our reservation. All of VT is involved with factory farming. Factory farming isn't compatible with tourism. It stinks and is toxic. We'll never visit VT again.

My wife and I stayed here in August of 2018 while on a motorcycle trip. Guests cannot make reservations if staying less than 2 nights, we were happily able to drive in and get a site for 1 night. The young man working the check-in was very friendly and welcoming - he knew the area well, and could tell us where to go - he directed us to McKee's Island Pub and Pizza - we were glad he did. Campsites here offer more privacy than is typical in Ontario provincial parks. Bring a bag of quarters in your shower kit so you can pay for showers.

Is there wifi at the campground? Or phone service? We have ATT. Unfortunately we need to work while we are there.

Is there hiking nearby? Looking for a 2-4 hour easy to moderate hike with nice views.
There are many hiking opportunities within an hour drive of the park. A nearby State Park, Niquette Bay, offers numerous trails with great views of the lake.
Does this campground rent bikes, or is there anywhere nearby?
