Initially had some trouble finding the Trailhead - it starts in Healdville on Station Road not by the ski area as was listed on Trip Advisor when we went. Loved the climb -- four hours as advertised and only a bit of a challenge for non-hikers. Cold and cloudy and the top, but the colds parted for some beautiful views.... More

Great moderate hike with spectacular views. I took just under 2 hours up and 1.5 down and saw a mother and two bear cubs near the summit attempting to cross the trail in front of the stone chimney, until I screamed and they retreated! Highly recommend. The trailhead is easy to find and has good parking.

We are healthy 69 year olds and this certainly a challenge. Two hours and 15 minutes in each direction. You really have to watch your footing on the way done as there are many tree roots and rocks. We only went up to the first level of the fire tower as we don't like heights. You can go to the... More

Done this one a couple of times with the dog - takes me around 1 hour 40 minutes from bottom to top (dry conditions, late summer, early fall). It will get your heart beating especially as you get closer to to the top and I wouldn't take young children personally but it's a nice challenge and the views from the... More

It's quite a hike up the mountain... hardly Olympic, but way more than a casual stroll. Steep and long, though terrain is pretty manageable.

This is a 3+ hour hike uphill to the top Mt. Okemo where you can then climb up the restored old firetower to gain a view over the tree tops of surrounding valleys & fields. There are no special views along the way but it is a good forest hike. Requires no technical skills, just endurance.

Beautiful ride up the mountain and a couple of spots you can stop for pictures. Is an amazing hike because of the breathtaking views. I especially like all the wildflowers.

Did with hike with husband and 2 older teens. Some easy parts but also some more challenging areas. Would do it again.

The hike is only 6 miles round-trip but the firetower is almost 2000 feet above the trailhead, so it's not a piece of cake for a 64-year-old in medium condition...I went on a hot day and I was BEAT when I got back...but it's all walking, no scrambling on all 4s. It's a beautiful trail, well-routed and maintained, and the... More

Beautiful hike with waterfalls and wonderful vistas. If you don't want to hike all the way to the top of Ascutney (about two hours up), just go to the second waterfall.
