Great with grandchildren

Always love to visit the Montshire, especially with our grandchildren who cover every inch and never tire of partaking. The current music exhibit on the second floor is stunning.

To be fair, this museum would no doubt be 5 stars for families with young children. I am only offering 3 stars because the woman at the front desk should have been more honest about stating it was not a good fit for our 10 and 13 year old. We took her word and entered - and lasted about 25... More

Thanks so much for your review. The Making Music exhibition will be on display through Labor Day and is worth several repeat visits. It's one of my personal favorites too. Beth More

Always something new going on at the Montshire. Call ahead and see what exhibits or events they have. They do winter and summer events. If you live locally and have young kids a membership is well worth it.

Loads of fun to go and hang out. Can get crowded at times. But for the most part if you skip the high rush hour. Tons of fun. Can spend couple of hours there. On a good sunny day you can head out back. Tons of fun. They don't really change much. They supposedly change the exhibits, but that only... More

We enjoy going to the Montshire with or without children or friends. There are activities for everyone. The exhibits change several times a year and the regular displays are interesting to many ages. Children dart from place to place. The outdoor water park is a perfect place to visit on a hot summer day, enjoy experimenting with water projects and... More

My little one thoroughly enjoyed herself for 3-hours nonstop and then went back for more after a lunch break. There's an enormous number of hand-on activities for kids of all ages from about 2 or 3 on up. However, because there are so many kids of various ages all wanting to enjoy an activity, it presents a parenting challenge in... More

Thanks for your review. Congestion around exhibits can be an issue during busy times. During non school vacation days, there are fewer crowds. We continue to look into viable year-round food service. During the summer months, we offer lunch and snack items in the Hughes Pavilion next to Science Park. Thanks again, Beth More

This hands on museum is good for all ages. There is a sectioned off place for kids 5 and under. I was so sad when my boy aged out of this! There are two floors of exhibits with much to explore in every corner. The outside space is a godsend on hot summer days. Lots of water to splash in... More

You may be put off by the high price of entry but kids love this place. Call them about their special events. A membership is a great gift for a family living in the local area.
