This is a narrow toll road up to the top of Mt Mansfield. It is mostly dirt but well packed and suitable for automobiles, although we went up in a Jeep. Once you get to the parking area, it is a short hike up to the ridge and then a relatively easy hike to the summit. The only reason I... More

Scared drive. Thank goodness my husband was driving. But beautiful views of the fall foliage and surrounding mountain ranges.

This is worth every penny. It is a stunning drive both up and down the mountain. The views, even on a rainy day, are amazing. Must do in Stowe.

Extraordinary views over VT, NY and Canada with blue skies and fantastic autumn colours. Wouldn't have missed it. Drive not too bad at all. Parking could be problematic. Great easy trails to see the views.

Great way to see the colors and take in the beautiful vistas in the comfort of your car. Small price to pay for the toll road which winds around the mountain allowing you to stop as desired to take photos.

Would recommend this for access to a great trail to the summit/chin of Mt Mansfield. The cost is worth it; the folks in the booth are great with questions; an audio cd is included in the price which gives background on the trail.

Once you get to the top and navigate the trail the views of Vermont and Canada are amazing. Make sure to bring a camera and some water. The drive is on gravel for 95% of the time and as long as you go slow everything will be fine.

Automobile and driver is $22. $7 each additional passenger. Top of the summit is 4395 feet. They give you an audio CD with history on the road and mountain and they also give you a bumper sticker. Road to the top is 4.5 miles. The road is mostly gravel. The road is skinny, be careful when passing other vehicles. There... More

I am a 54 year old woman with a lot of anxiety, a fear of heights and I suffer from vertigo so measure yourself against me😊 Here are the facts: 1. The road is not scary at all but go right at opening time to reduce the amount of cars and hikers. It took us 30 minutes to get to... More

The girlfriend and I did an early trip to the Auto Toll Road on 8/22/16. We didn't really pick the best day to do it, the forecast was for cool weather and called for rain. Even from the base, we could see that the mountaintop was completely shrouded in the day's low cloud cover. Undaunted, we took the drive up... More
