Harrimans is the result of the early 20th century planning for the water needs of the future. Flooding a few villages provided a need form the greater good. There are several areas around the lakes for walking and picnics. We can dove it a few years ago funding the bold roads and riverbed in the silt, a most eerie experience... More

A local shop owner recommended we go see the reservoir and when she said it had a Glory Hole, I was intrigued! The walkway offers a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and has a nice hiking path if you have the time.

My wife and I hiked the Hoot, Toot, and Whistle trail as part of the Green Mountain Adventure Challenge. The trail runs south from Wilmington for approximately 7 miles to the dam at the south end of the reservoir Our total time for the round trip with lunch break was around seven hours. It was a beautiful fall day with... More

Accidentally stumbled on this from Wilmington when stayed straight on 100 at stop light instead of turning on 9. Road soon turns into dirt road & then there are pull overs and picnic areas. So peaceful. Gorgeous in the fall!

there are no signs to indicate Ward's Cove, but it's a great little beach by the lake. Very nice place to have a picnic, swim in the lake and sunbathe.

Came here on the recommendation of a store owner who gave us directions, and a wonderful spontaneous visit it was. Parking was a little tricky on a weekday afternoon, but there were many picnic tables with beautiful views of the lake. We didn't swim or boat but just enjoyed sitting at the table reading our books while looking at the... More

Took the hoot toot and whistle walking trail from downtown Wilmington to the reservoir. It was a lovely walk with a well marked trail. The end opened up to a picnic area and dock on the water with boaters, kayakers, and picnickers. Highly recommended.

Went primarily to jetski. It was amazing!! It cost $180.00 plus tax and optional insurance. The Jetski came with a full tank of fuel and ran great. Top speed was 45 MPH, which was fast enough. Lake was a little low due to drought, but still magnificent and clean.
