Made a stop here on our wine weekend away. The lady who did our tasting was part of the family who owns / runs the winery and was very friendly, knowledgeable and social. The wines were all very very good. The vineyard was beautiful and is a great backdrop for a nice glass of wine and a picnic. Highly suggest... More

We were making brief afternoon tour through some of the Monticello AVA wineries. We thought Barboursville was a bust (WAY over rated and disorganized mess), Horton was mediocre at best, so Burnley seemed in keeping with the theme of the day. Tasting room - When you pull in you don't see a vineyard, you see what must be the sorriest... More

Three and a Half Stars, would probably be more appropriate, but since that's not an option, I'm upgrading my review because of the nice lady giving the tasting. This is an older winery that could do with a little refurbishment. The window air conditioning unit emits a slight musty odor that could throw of the taste and smell of wine.... More

Good mix of dry and sweet wines. And only $4 to try as many as you want (cheapest one we did). Friendly staff. Glad we stopped. I would come again.

Outside Barboursville, off Burnley Station Road. We planned to spend 30 minutes here. But we left two hours later after a delightful discussion that covered just about every subject you could imagine. They planted their first vines in 83 but now have quite a following for Whites and Reds. They also have a lovely "Wine Dog, Polly," who is a... More

Had a very nice chat with Dawn the owner, tasted some interesting wines. All of their grapes are estate grown and some but not all are very good. My experience with Virginia wines has been eye opening! Thanks y'all!

We have been visiting at Burnley Winery for 15 years now. We have gotten to know the family and watch them grow. We've known their dogs and watched them go from puppy to adult. Their wines are outstanding, solid, and some unique. One of my favorites is the Spicy Rivana. We were shown how the flavor is different when chilled,... More

Visited this winery a few weeks ago and had an enjoyable experience. The wine tasting is cheap ($3) and the wines are quite good. The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable, however the winery itself is a little dated. Would go back due to my pleasant experience and the good wines, but would love to see the winery have a... We first discovered this vineyard a few years ago and have been buying their wines since then. The husband and wife owners are the friendliest people we have come across in the winery business. They take the time to talk with you, have some fun and get to know you. We always visit their booth when at the local wine... More
