Super manicured trail with bridges over any all mildly difficult terrain. The trail parking can be a challenge (the "barn" lot is easier than the small trailhead lot). In addition to the manicured trails, there are some social trails which lead to the vineyards on...More

This 2-mile pathway up to Monticello provides a nice walk through woods on a trail that is part raised boardwalk and part wide path. The Trail is well cared for and broad with enough space to explore and observe things in the woods.

great place to take in some fresh air, bring the kids, dogs, strollers, older family members, etc. it is fairly even with paved roads and well-maintained graveled roads. there are many off-shoots to take more aggressive, steeper hikes. there are stunning old growth trees, some...More

This path looks amazing. Read the reviews and decided we would park in the Dairy Barn lot and walk to Monticello to see the grounds. We had our two dogs with us. I noted that some trails are not open to pets. Fine, no mention...More

If you want an easy walk through paved trails and wooded sidewalks, this 4 mile round trip trail is for you. It's a popular trail on the weekends, as we found out, because at the end of the trail is Monticello, the home of Thomas...More

This is a popular trail, so parking can be difficult on weekends. It follows a pretty route, through the woods all the way to the Monticello Visitor Center. Along the way, smaller trails lead off to interesting woods, views, and a pond.

We enjoyed hiking this trail. It was conveniently located right off the interstate. The trail was fairly easy to walk, and took about 2 hours round trip, including multiple stops to enjoy the sites, while keeping at a leisure pace.

This is a lovely and peaceful trail that is well worth visiting. There is a convenient parking lot that can get filled on a weekend, but you can park along the highway. The first half of the walk is uphill, but is a gentle rise....More

A great place to check out the woods, identify some of the flora, and generally have a good four mile stroll, walk or jog. Even though the trail is up/down hill, the grade was not to steep.

I haven't been there today, but you can park either in the small parking lot near the entrance, or around the corner off of Route 20 (Dairy Barn Rd). The normal trail "paved" should be good. The upper trails are a bit muddy.

Steady slight grade. Lots of shade and well maintained path. Benches along the way. Once you start the trail usually need to turn around to head back as no mid trail exit points that I can recall.
