We scheduled a private tour with Rob and had a blast. Rob has the perfect personality for this tour. He is friendly and outgoing. We were introduced to our alter-egos and quickly became Sam and Fannie McCue. Rob took us on a wonderful walking tour of old town Charlottesville giving us interesting and informative background on the town and the... More

I've gone on 3 of these (all different) and highly recommend them to discover a spooky side of Charlottesville history. For the Spirit Walks around Halloween, be sure to go to a later tour in the dark for the full effect. Local actors interpret historical figures and do a mixed job (not everyone can act) and the darkness helps with... More

I participated in the ghost tour as part of an activity from the conference I attended in Charlottesville and I enjoyed very minute of it. It was a wonderful walk of history through the streets of Charlottesville with a great murder mystery mixed in. Rob had the groups interest peaked from the beginning and kept us all involved and interested... More

With a wide-ranging background in local history, Rob Craighurst will take you on a one-of-a-kind excursion of thrills & chills. Court Square, Oakwood Cemetery, UVA Lawn - he knows the secrets hiding in those and a lot of other places. Great entertainment, educational, a memorable way to acquaint yourself with Charlottesville and its denizens, er... environs.

Nice autumn day to listen to the stories of Charlttesville. Not scary, more of the curiosities of this small town. Would do it once.

This was a great experience. I went with my husband and two young children (in addition to two others in our group) and our tour guide did an awesome job with keeping the children engaged with the mystery. Is was interesting walking down the streets and actually reenacting the events of that evening and seeing some of the homes and... More

I used a Groupon to book this tour with several of my friends. It was an interesting and mysterious tour of a part of downtown Charlottesville that has some hidden history. Still not convinced one way or another of whodunit, but it's just intriguing to know that this happened here those many years ago. It did have some walking necessary... More

This tour is based on a 1904 murder involving mayor Sam McCue and his wife, and as you walk through downtown Charlottesville, not only do you see the sights, but you get to follow along on this really entertaining mystery. Rob, our guide, was informative and a lot of fun. Definitely he is the best walking tour guide I've ever... More

We were 3 adults and 5 teens ranging from ages 17 to 19. We contacted our guide a couple of weeks before coming to Charlottesville to vacation. He was very accommodating. He was willing to give us a private tour at 9pm. It was great! The teens said it was a highlight of their vacation. We got just enough history... More
