Eating the buffet was well worth it. However, the tour of the old reassembled Tavern was disappointing and not worth the money or time.

The food is so good and after you go through the line to get your food the servers dressed in period costumes will refill your plates. Everyone was very friendly and made our trip enjoyable.

$18 for a family style meal seems a fair price. There wasn't a whole lot of variety, it was southern/country food. The staff was good and the tour was entertaining in a homely small town way. You've got excellent mashed potatoes and biscuits. That said,...More

The place is interesting, pleasant to walk around the shops, the dining experience is not as nice. We felt hurried along by the staff, the food was very expensive for the fare it was...and it was just ok, nothing stellar. So we would not return...but...More

Can't say enough good things.... you might be skeptical and want to turn your nose up at a touristy buffet but the quality of the meal here is worth it. Definitely family friendly, but my date for the day enjoyed it too.

On our way to VA, we stopped at a rest area where one of the workers inside told us about this place and not to miss it. Was glad we got the tip. It is only open mid-day so we timed our visit to Jefferson's...More

Relocated historic tavern an easy visit right after Monticello tour. There Thanksgiving week and walked right in and through cafeteria style line. Seconds were offered once seated. Kids loved the cider in steel cups and there were nice local tavern style ales on offer. Service...More

For a taste of food from our past, go to Michie Tavern. The chicken is excellent, and I particularly enjoy the stewed tomatoes. Cornbread and all the fixings are here. The dining area is quaint and simple, but clean.

Its a tourist trap. The food was good, not great. Over priced buffet that charges extra for dessert and even a drink! Neat place but felt nickled and dimed on the drink charge.

They have cole slaw. You must pay for the full meal even if you only eat the cole slaw. It is $18 adults and $11 children plus dessert is extra.
