This authentic tavern truly has you eating like Jefferson. The food is served buffet style with time period food. And it is good. Ambiance is perfect. It was however a little pricey but worth the experience.

Colonial ladies and gentlemen greet you by the little ticket booth. Take the tour of this wonderful recreation of colonial life before visiting the restaurant on the ground floor.

Yes, the hours are limited, but they’re publicized; do like we did if you’re visiting Monticello and plan around them. Yes, it’s touristy but what do expect so close to Jefferson’s home? And yes it’s a bit pricey with a limited choice buffet, but if...More

Neat little restaurant that is big on service. You go threw a buffet line but then you have period dressed people getting all your refills for food and drink for you. The only meat is chicken but it is delicious. Start with one piece because...More

It was a lovely site and the building was beautiful but they stopped serving any food or drink at 3:30 and all that was available were souvenirs that were over priced. I love history, but this is not making good use of the site. Stop...More

The best thing I can say about Michie's Tavern is that they do have vegetarian options, but you need a server to get them for you. This place is cute and has a nice historical background, but it's overpriced and nothing too special. The kids...More

They have cole slaw. You must pay for the full meal even if you only eat the cole slaw. It is $18 adults and $11 children plus dessert is extra.
