This was more of a haphazard starving artist gallery. No air conditioning (and it was in the upper 90's!) and the art looks like student projects rather than professional level work.

Filled with artists' studios, most of which are open and friendly during the First Friday's art openings. I almost always find their main gallery to have a great show as well. On those First Fridays, they have plenty of food and wine to sample while...More

This is not a museum in my opinion. It is a very old and dirty school with "starving" artists. You walk in and there is no one to greet you or give you guidance. There are no instructions on where you can go. The art...More

Love exploring this wonderful Art Center! My 6 year old daughter took Clay for Kids and LOVED it! Fantastic. Love meeting local artists and learning about their work while waiting for her class. Fantastic!

If you're into art this is the place to be for 1st Friday. The exhibits change every month. There is a wide range of artwork on display and you can meet the artists in their studios. It's a local treasure.

We love to explore the studios and the sculpture garden with the kids. The store is a wonderful way to discover new artists and support this community.

Wonderful place to view all kinds of art. Studios are open and working artists invite you in to view their work and discuss their projects.

As an artist visiting Charlottesville it was great to visit a place like McGuffey to connect with local artists and get an understanding of local arts practice. Every town should have a place for there local artists to develop, create, exhibit and sell their work....More
