Visited for the first time this past Sunday. A very enthusiastic ranger greeted us at the entrance, gave us a map and a couple recommendations on what to see. Hiked a couple of trails (and there are many, many more hiking and biking trails to see). The CCC (Civilian Conservation Corp) museum is in a CCC building constructed in the... More

We rented 2 cabins next to each other - there are only a total of 6 cabins at the park. The cabins were new-like and very clean! They have 2 sets of bunk beds, a table and 6 chairs, a ceiling fan w/ light, plenty of windows and a really cute porch. It was like a luxury, rustic-style cabin! We... More

Lots of walking and hiking trails and picnic areas. The staff at the gift shop, especially Carolyn, was helpful and courteous.

Charming and quiet little get away. Lots of privacy between camp sites. Wonderful trails and great spot for kids to run and play

We stayed at this park on our return trip from OBX, NC. We rented one of the camp cabins. Just perfect after a week spent camping on the beach. The cabins have electricity, a table w/ chairs & 2 bunk beds. Outside you get a picnic table & a fire ring. Park still had several other visitors in the camping... More

Pocahontas state park is well maintained and has so many fun things to do outside. We have camped at the park. Every summer we bring the dog and rent canoes or kayaks. We have hiked and recently we took a group of cub scouts mountain biking on an easy trail - Blueberry Patch trail.

Bring your beach chair, blanket, monies for food/drinks. You can sit in front of the stage or sit on the rolling grassy hill. Very laid back and on a cool evening enjoy the music and the stars. Camping/cabins are available. Trails to walk, horseback trails, swimming pool, river for fishing and paddleboarding.

We are travelling down south and stopped here since it's the midway point between D.C. and Norfolk. We have friends in both locations so it worked out for us to stay here. The park is beautiful and well kept. On more than one occasion I seen the camp hosts drive by and wave and the park police were noticed also.... More
