Chateau Morrisette Winery and Restaurant is known for its quality Virginia wines, its scenic location along the Blue Ridge Parkway, its Black Dog Music Festivals and other special events, as well as its top-notch fine dining restaurant. The winery is open 7-days a week and offers wine tastings for $8 per person (for $2 more you may keep the souvenir glass). The tasting includes a tour of our winery. Hours vary by day of the week. The Chateau Restaurant is open Wed-Thu 11-2, Fri - Sat 11-9, and Sun 11-4. Open for lunch everyday in October. Guests may purchase wine by the bottle or glass and spend time relaxing in our courtyard, in a private gazebo, or from our terrace overlooking the scenic New River Valley. Live entertainment is offered every Sunday afternoons, June through October and we invite guests to check our website for the many special events we produce throughout the year, including the Black Dog Music Festivals.

We had been meaning to come here for a while, and on the day we were passing along the Parkway to NC, we had reservations at this winery. Almost cancelled them, since with incessant thunderstorms, roads looking like rivers, the Parkway looking dark and foreboding (which is actually a beautiful sight) but as true foodies, we carry on regardless. Service... More

We appreciate your patronage, your time for a thorough review, and your spirit of exploration! We love our Sweet Mountain Apple too, and we hope to have our Ciderworks in full production this fall; last year's trial run was very well received. We look forward to having you with us again! More

Most of the other reviews will give the basic stuff but let me say that this is the kind of mountain winery that sets the standard. Plan on a walk around the grounds. The wine tasting is worth the $8 or $10 depending on if you want the glass. My Dog Blue is my favorite for 15 years. The back... More

We're glad you enjoyed your visit and have enjoyed Our Dog Blue so consistently! The Riesling-Traminette blend hits just the right semi-sweet spot for so many of us. Thank you for your review. Please join us for our Spring Open House the last weekend of April. More

Previously one of my favorite spots for lunch. Recently, we were placed at a cramped table despite larger ones available. Bread was brought with 4 pieces for a party of 5. Service was adequate but a large door to the outside was left open to create a cold draft. Luncheon menu was greatly reduced compared to other visits.

Thank you for your feedback. We have been operating on winter hours with a reduced winter menu since January. Traffic along the Blue Ridge Parkway and visitation to Chateau Morrisette is greatly reduced during these cold, winter months. Beginning this weekend (April 1), we return to regular hours and our spring menu which is expanded and offers you more selections... More

The experience for out ninth anniversary dinner was excellent. My wife is not a adventuresome person when it comes to trying something new and the menu had something to offer for her conservative tastes. I had the shrimp and grits and i must say very smooth and in an excellent cream sauce. A must place to dine when in the... More

And the wine was good. We were celebrating a birthday and the restaurant at the winery was a terrific place. The suggested wine suited four different tastes, the food was wonderful, and our waiter, Luke was knowledgeable and friendly. It was a wonderful evening.

Big jazz festival in June Or July with thousands attending. The best is yet to come because the wine was backed originally by the owners father and his catfish farm in Alabama. What a succuss story. The wine is magnificant and watched over by an English Colley hench the name on some of the labels that say Old Dog Wine,... More

Thanks for the nice review. Our 2017 Calendar of events will be published in mid January. While we have a very nice restaurant on the estate, we also allow guests to bring their own picnics and enjoy the view. (No outside alcohol, please). We have three gazebos that guests may use on a first come first served basis. These gazebos... More
