A place to start your visit

They receive you well and enjoy sharing information about their city. The hint for lunch was perfect and it seemed to us that the lady who welcomed us really does a great job.

Not only does it provide information for the local area, they provide great information for the wider area. I picked up several maps and paid for a CD for a locally self-guided tour.

This was a nice little visitor center but lacked what we needed. Maybe the information we needed is not available. Not sure but several brochures were out. Most likely because we were early in the season. I think it is worth stopping by to find out about all sorts of different attractions, hotels, motels, etc.

The Front Royal Visitors Center sit on Main Street in the Historic downtown. There is parking on it sides of the building and it well labeled. They have oodles of pamphlets not only for the surrounding area but for all over Virginia. The two ladies working at the desk were extremely helpful and eager to help me find info on... More

This is a great visitor center if you're going to see Shenandoah national Park. They have maps and helpful advice and they can direct you to the entrance of the park. Additionally, there are artifacts and historical pictures in this visitor center. You will get a sense of the history of the area and the things you want to see.

I stopped by the visitor center to find out about local birding spots and the girl at the desk was so helpful. She showed me on a map some places to go, marked the map and gave it to me and looked up some places online. Lots of information in the building also.

We met a great guide here who provided us with a lot of info. In addition to maps, she suggested that we purchase Lifetime National Park passes.

They had lots of brochures for all around the state. We did not have any questions so did not interact with either of the two employees there.

Would recommend stopping here before venturing off. They had some good information about town and the drive along Skyline Dr.

Wonderful visitors center. The staff are so friendly and knowledgable about their town and the national park trails, waterfalls and lodging in the park. The town of Front Royal should be proud to have such pleasant and dedicated staff as the face for their tourist industry.
