Good Place for a Wedding

I am not much for really sweet cider, so this place was great for me. They have a few different tastings to choose from and the woman there was very knowledgeable, and when I explained what I liked, she selected the tasting that best fit my affinity for dry, not too sweet cider. Their tasting room is beautiful, but their... More

We had no idea what unsweetened cider would taste like but we gave it a try. If you like this sort of beverage this is a good place to visit. Staff are warm and friendly and serving size is generous. The taste of unsweetened cider was not to our liking but you may enjoy it.

Beautiful Venue and a decent amount of ciders to try but they all were very similar is taste. Nothing there really stood out to us. There are better cideries in the area in our opinion.

We met my daughter and her family here for a tasting. While it is a beautiful location, we were not impressed by the cider, and our visit was cut short. The posted hours don't reflect the fact that they close even the tasting room to the public when there is a wedding going on. If you're planning a wedding, it... More

We attended a wedding after the normal business had closed. It was located off a country road with plenty of parking. The wedding was held upstairs in a large area with comfortable chairs. The bride and groom were silhouetted by large barn doors which would have been lovely except for the blinding sun as it was setting. The court yard... More

Attended a wedding here, buses drove us in from Charlottesville, about 30 min away, down narrow roads. The parking lot and areas leading to outside seating were all gravel, so very difficult to walk. The ramp to the building had no railing and the roses bushes were over grown (thorny limbs ) not allowing me to help an elderly person... More

Highly recommend this as a wedding venue. Cocktails and butlered hors d'oeuvres under the trees... the wedding under trees decorated with lanterns/candles. Photos under an amazing sunset. Then, dancing and dining inside the spacious main building. Just gorgeous. NOTE: Wedding guests were sent here via huge buses, which just barely fit down the narrow country road we took -- an... If you like sweet dull cider you shouldn't come here. If you like interesting, different, flavorful stuff that you sip and say wow this is wonderful, then come here. The Levity was our favorite. We need to find a way to get it locally!

This is a very small cidery and we were, unfortunately, not impressed. All of their ciders seemed to taste a little "off" to me, and my traveling companions did not care much for them either. We heard that the Albemarle CiderWorks was the one to visit, but we ran out of time.

Instead of wind tasting we opted for a cider tasting and Castle Hill did not disappoint. The port is so delicious and smooth, oh my. The other ciders are all drier than what you buy in the liquor store and much more interesting. Lovely location with a cozy sitting area inside and shaded porch outside to enjoy a glass of... More
