Overview
More
Morven Park was once the home of Virginia governor, Westmoreland Davis, and his wife Marguerite. More than 70 years after his death, the accomplishments and ideals of Gov. Davis still resonate within the 1,000 acres of this one-of-a-kind place. Each year 150,000 people visit the Park, whether participating in its competitive equestrian events, touring its three museums, attending educational and recreational programs, or just enjoying the beauty of the woodlands, mountainous ridge, historic buildings, and formal gardens. Summer tour hours for Morven Park's three museums are Thursday, Friday,Saturday, and Monday 12p.m.-5p.m. and Sunday 12p.m-5p.m. Starting September 1st, the museums will be open to the public Saturdays and Sundays 12:00 - 5:00, with the last tour starting at 4:00 pm. The historic gardens, Turkey Hill Farm, hiking trails, equestrian center and athletic complex are open every day. Operated by the Westmoreland Davis Memorial Foundation, Morven Park is a non-profit organization, relying on individual donations, memberships, and event income to finance its public programs and preservation of its historic and natural resources.

We didn't go inside because it was closed by the time we got there - but the kids loved walking up to it/ watching the fireflies and just walking around. It was definitely worth the visit.

It amazes me how quiet and seemingly unused this park is for how special it is. Fantastic views and significant historical interest from the steps of the Old Governors Mansion... "Picture Perfect" brick walls, landscaping, fields, fountains, funky horse jumps, etc for family portraits, couples...More

Beautiful period mansion and grounds. We go to the VA Hound Show there every year. The grounds are kept beautifully, the house is magnificent. Lots of history there. Would be a fairytale to live there.

Nice public park for a walk, didn't get to go through the mansion because I got there too late although I did walk about the grounds. Nice bathroom facilities at the parking lot near the mansion.

We drove through this park and the mansion was beautiful. The grounds are quite wild and there was not a manicured garden that I saw.More

Absolutely beautiful setting for a wedding, even down to the white horse carriage for the bride and groom. Walking around the property and visiting the governors mansion was a nice experience. Pictures turn out beautiful in the garden.

I started showing here for the first time this spring and have done several shows dressage shows. I've been told they did a lot of work over the winter to change up their rings. It is a nice place to show at. Footing is ok...More

Yes there's plenty of picnic tables, and benches. After you enter go to the left and you will see a large parking lot. There's tables there. Enjoy!

While enjoying the Park's gardens and grounds, you will find restrooms in the Comfort Station at the end of the main parking lot AND in the Coach House complex (water fountain there as well).
