It was interesting to visit the home of Stonewall Jackson, the only home he ever owned which was part of the military school he was a teacher at. The home has been lovingly restored by the local historical society and it is fascinating to learn...More

The house and tour are quite interesting. I never realized what a good human Jackson was before the tour. Not far from the house is the Jackson graveyard was was a neat place to also visit.

It's an easy walk in town, the home is accessible with a museum, tour and shop. The garden was cultivated by Stonewall Jackson and slaves. Small, well done and fun to simply BE in it.

Lovely, well maintained historic home. Our guide was well versed on the home and open to questions. They have obtained many pieces personally owned by the Jackson family. One of the highlights of our trip. Well worth the entry fee!

The best part of this tour was the information the guide presented. The house itself has been restored and has more time period pieces in it than Jackson's own property. There are 2 floors to the house and you are led through in small groups...More

This is definitely a one time stop for me. It was interesting, but the majority of the artifacts were not owned by the Jacksons. The guide was very knowledgeable.

My wife and I were thrilled to be in his house in downtown Lexington. It's a great tour, and a fantastic opportunity to wander throughout his house, lft much the same as when he lived there.

We love visiting historic homes and, while this is a small one, the staff is welcoming, friendly & knowledgeable. Knew nothing about Stonewall Jackson before the visit (except as Civil War general). Nice video to start and then tour was thorough and honest - some...More

This museum is dedicated to Jackson's domestic life as a VMI instructor. Nicely restored and furnished. Don't skip if you have any real interest in American history. Nice staff as well.

He was a very religious man. He would sit and look at the wall and meditate. He also would memorize his lecture for the following day's class at VMI.
