Imposing set of steps leading up the the main gateway of this magnificent fort! Cattle, goats, people wander about, shiva lingams dot the ghat. Low key, but lots of steps that are daunting to the weak and impossible for those with bad knees or hips!

Narmada river is considered sacred like the ganges. This fort is in the banks of river narmada and sitting around in the evening or early morning in the banks is an amazing experience.

One must salute Devi Ahikyabai Holkar for such a beautiful fort. Amazing art coupled with scenic location on the banks of River Narmada. Greatness of Ahilyadevi is completely evident when we visit the fort. No wonder she is called as "Devi"
