this is a large English type park in the middle of a lovely Burmese town, which in itself is something of a surprise. Everything is kept in good order and the park is very clean. There are side attractions like an enclosed aviary, and a tree top walk (which was closed when we went - as was the cafe). All... More

Very nice and well cared-for gardens - much better than ones I saw in Australia, which you would expect to be better in some ways! Very nice butterfly house, fountains, etc. It's a nice trip to do when you have a few spare hours and are staying in the area. The english information is good. Definitely worth the small fee... We spent about 1 1/2 hours there during the afternoon. By no means too hot, and in any event there was always shade nearby. The lakes are lovely, and there were enough interesting plants to satisfy my demanding wife. We also enjoyed the fact that there were almost no tourists - but plenty of local monks and nuns.

Such a lovely place to just get lost. Gardens, colour, people watching, & to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the surroundings., would have liked to have had a full day here to explore & to take advantage of what the gardens offered. We tried to buy a coffee from the café late in the afternoon but it had... More

Nice place to go chill out for the day. Maybe take a lunch picnic. It's $5 USD to get into the park. The watch tower was a little disappointing.

In February my parents visited Yangon and we were planning to go for a short in country holiday and explore Myanmar. After many discussions we choose Pyin Oo Lwin as our destination via Mandalay. Pyin Oo Lwin is approx 1.5 to 2 hours drive from Mandalay. Although not very far but due to its tough terrain takes a bit time.... More

This is a great location to spend a few hours relaxing around the gardens .A must place to visit is the orchid garden. There is a fantastic collection there. The butterfly museum is well worth a visit ( no photographs) as there is a wonderful collection. The aviary is rather disappointing. Give it a miss if you are short of... More

Apparently the inspiration for these gardens was Kew, there are no similarities but that doesn't matter. It's quite a nice walk around but by no means a super exotic experience. The orchids looked like a big display on a flower stall in Marks and Spencer. The butterflies are pinned to a board and not alive anymore. There's not much to... More
