If you are in Granada, it's a nice way to spend a 1/2 day. I saw several species of birds, both howler and spider monkeys, and some rain forest.

Toured many of the islands. Monkeys came down from the trees on Monkey Island to climb all over the boat and eat any snacks you care to give them. Great photo opportunities

The Islets tour leaves from the city of Granada, which is about 45 minutes from Managua by taxi.

You should be able to negotiate a tour of any length. The guides seem more than happy to make a little more money.

You bring US. You can change your money at the bank or exchange from street corner vendors, they're pretty much at the same rate as banks. ATM's will give out one or the other, local or US.
