Gianconda knows she her stuff and pays attention to details. Her tour combines touches on details, cause and effect, and big picture happenings in the history of Nicaragua: pre-columbian, conquista, independence, filibusters, and present day. She sings, too. Her three hour tour is not only entertaining, but also a bargain at $10. I suggest you take it!

definitely the best city tour in granada! And the most significant experience I made during this short trip to nicaragua! Gioconda impresed us with her widespread knowledge, her sparkling talk, her great creativity! I never before enjoyed that much listen to a countrys and citys history and present! The way she talked, caused us never to be bored: using various... More

I feel lucky to have joined a group led by Gioconda to explore the islets of Lake Nicaragua by boat. She is a very personable woman who has extensive knowledge of the tiny islands and the history of Nicaragua and shared a wealth of information with us in an interesting and entertaining manner. Gioconda even sang several traditional songs for... More

Gioconda possesses boundless energy and information. Her love and passion for Nicaragua are palpable, and the sheer facts she knows are mind-boggling. She shares a dizzying amount of information about the history of Granada and Nicaragua in general. She jumped around in the chronology depending on which site we were visiting, which made some of it difficult to follow. As... More

I met Gioconda my first night when it was heavily raining and we were hiding under a roof. She is not only a wonderful person to talk to, she is a unique Nicaraguan busy bee, a renowned and well respected, certified tourguide and a caring mother at the same time. She offers full service: tours, flights, bike rental and you... More

Gioconda is incredibly knowledgeable about the historical area of Granada. She is prompt, professional, and offers her tour at an incredible value. Although my daughter and I had been exploring Granada on foot, we wanted a bit of a break from the heat. We enjoyed the covered carriage ride which provided rest for our feet, and a cool breeze! The... More

Gioconda was able to give a tour 30 minutes after I arrived. Her descriptions of architecture, history and local stories were very informative. She sang several songs about notable events, flowers and people - very enjoyable. Highly recommend.

It was a delight spending a few hours with Gioconda. She is very knowledgeable about Granada and Latin America in general. Gioconda met us at our hostel, walked us around town, at the end of the day she walked us back to our hostel. She speaks English very well. She is very entertaining. Unexpectedly, Gioconda performed a number of local... More

Gioconda guided us through the streets of Granada and the lake with wonderful enthusiasm and sang beautiful Nicaraguan songs at every opportunity. We have used lots of local guides but she is the most unique. She also has detailed knowlege of the history of the city. The most fun we've had with a guide!! And very reasonably priced.

I accidentally came across Giocondo's store while walking in Granada in Feb 2104. I told her I wanted to see something of the countryside. We took a bus to Tisma the next day, walked around the city, and I had the pleasure of hearing her singing in the local museum. We walked by the river, talked to fishermen, etc., and... More
