Take gifts with you

Great for finding different gifts but take them with you, do not send them as they may not arrive. Be sure to bargain as the price is flexible.

Total scam here and the owner knows it from the second you walk in the door. I've attached pictures of my paid-for paintings that I've never seen again. To be clear, it's not a problem with the Nica mail service as paintings from other galleries arrived to the US in three weeks, perfectly taken care of like the owners said.... More

On first impressions this is a professional gallery, with nice art work. Silvio the American with a 'rich history of banking in Nicaragua' says all the right things. In reality, I spent $500 on 4 pieces of art. Silvio agreed to ship them for me included in the price to save me carrying them around on my travels. On return... More

Silvio is a very gracious and knowledgeable merchant. His first price is quite high, but he bargains down easily. If you are naïve, you can overpay. Like I said, he is a merchant, not a shipping company. He will offer advice on shipping, but its really a matter between you and your shipping method of choice. If you are naïve,... More

We had a good experience at Gallery Ubago. I read the other reviews so I was skeptical. The gallery is quite large so you will probably find something you will like. We bought several pieces at a very fair price. The owner helped us pack the paintings so we could take them with us. I am baffled that the owner... More

We had a very positive experience at Ubago gallery. The owner worked with us to find four pieces that we love, within our budget. We took the paintings home with us, and they were carefully rolled in a protective tube.

We went to this place with Overseas Adventure Travels (I'm not saying that they vouched for him, but they should certainly take any possible action to keep visitors away.) I just found this review today. Had I known in February 2013 when we went to this place, I would not have fallen for the scam. We also paid in cash... More

I bought 4 pieces of pottery at Galeria Ubago in May 2012. The Galeria does have a nice selection of pricier pottery. The owner Silvio Ubago gave me a discount on the pottery. He told me that they would ship the pottery to my address in the United States, and assured me that they would pack the pottery securely with... More

What a pleasant relief to find this beauty after having lived in one of the most ugly and dangerous cities of Central America. Granada was like paradise to me and the gallery perfectly fits in. I bought a piece in December 2011 and brought it to the Post-office to let it ship. Both the gallery owners and the post-office employees... More

Despite repeated requests for the promised tracking numbers, no word from Silvio. Never received items, or tracking numbers. Don't trust this guy! If you can't carry it back home - don't buy it.
