This place was very nice. They do offer a bell tower for a small rate. The Hotel Real Merced is right across the street. When we were there, it was Ash Wednesday and it was cool to hear the service going on and see all the people. The History of the buildings in Nicaragua and especially in Granada with the cathedarals are really cool.

Beautiful church to visit for at least 15-20 mins! You pay $2 to go up a very small winding staircase and you'll be up to the bell tower, which has the best views of the city. You can also walk around the church and see beautiful paintings and one jesus in drag, which was a highlight for me. Recommend!

Beautiful church! The views from the bell tower are amazing, it only costs a dollar per person and it’s definitely worth it.

All the churches here are amazing to pop into. The views from the bell tower are so worth seeing! Especially at sunset.

Strangely, the church was all locked up when we visited but we did manage to climb the tower. The views around the city are really good so it was certainly worth the climb.

Per my guide, this was one of the churches that was burned down by the American who conquered Granada for 2 years.

The mass was going on during my visit so I quickly and discreetly took some pictures. I’ll visit it again to climb to the tower and take more photos. We saw some people at the tower covering their ears when the bells were rang. The sounds made were deafening!

This was by far the most amazing place we visited while in Granada. The pictures we got at sunset from up in the tower were just breathtaking and spectacular! If you only do one thing here, you want to go there at sunset!

Worthwhile to see interior--peaceful and serene. And I had the good fortune to come when a talented singer was practicing for an upcoming service.

They advertise the best city view that you access by climbing a winding narrow set of stairs.for $1.

An "all day" in Granada (for about 6 hours to be exact), the "most memorable" part of my visit to the town really was the visit to this church and which specifically was not for the church itself but for its "tower views" from the bell chamber or such at the top of its tower (the "only tower" to go up by a spiral staircase for just about a minute until getting to "right below" something like 3 bells in the chamber) from which are: a 360-degree view of the brick roofs of this "pretty flat" town (with mostly just 1-storied buildings), a "wide-horizon" view of Lake Nicaragua to the east with also the beautiful "main cathedral" of this town seen at about halfway, but above all a sight which I would just describe as a "phenomenal one" which is that of the big volcano Volcan Mombacho (kind of towering over this town and yes a "full & clear" view of it at just a relatively short distance out of town!). And also somewhat unique about this church is its outdoor "inner courtyard" (just a pretty small one but with a vertical structure like a monument or such in the middle of it) to get to from the inside which is also actually one for a nice walk around (with some shrines or secondary altars along its 2 lengths, nice-sized sculptures & beautiful stained-glass drawings on some windows).

After arriving from Managua by a "collectivo minivan" (for about a 1.5-hour ride from the roadside UCA station or such) right at the town's "main plaza" Parque Central, this church was my 2nd stop at just about a 5-minute walk to the west from the 1st stop which was the Plaza itself (really quite a vibrant one with just plenty of souvenirs vendors, horse-drawn carriages & also the "main cathedral" Catedral de Granada on its east side with just a "great exterior" to admire but not that much inside except some great paintings on the ceiling), and it was the small park at the "lake front" of Lake Nicaragua which was the 3rd & last stop after this church by heading back east to the Plaza followed by about another 15-minute walk further east (with a nice lake view where you can go all the way to the water's edge, a big '(heart) Granada' sign & a statue of the conquistador Cordoba).
