Personal bias: I work for a truck parts company who supplies the military... and am involved with commercial logistics. So, I appreciate what it takes to supply the warrior. And my interest level is unusual. This museum does a great job of showing the role...More

This is a wonderful site especially in heat of summer and chill of winter. Great history pieces that offers insight to military vastness that seldom receives just exposure. No cost, free parking and admission. Military vets provide docents knowledge a plus.

the first jeeps (though they weren't called that), landing craft, trains, humvees, helicopters, wagons -- whatever it takes to move troops and their gear -- that's what you'll find here. Walk the grounds to see the equipment. Tour the museum to learn more. An army...More

Three years ago I tried to visit the Fort Eustis museum. Although I had a British passport as photo ID, I was searched and excluded as an alien. The Museum website did not then, and does not now, point out that foreign visitors will be kept out, unless they have a serving military sponsor who is present on site and is willing to accompany them during their visit. As I have visited the museum twice before in the last thirty years I recognise the quality and interest of the exhibition.

Free. We planned on an hour or two, and ended up spending over 4 hours - there is THAT much to see, and well worth it.
