More

Saw the ads at Perugia Airport, so decided to go to visit. The ex-Seccatoi is a stupendous space, kind of like the Tate Modern's Turbine Hall, only 5 times over. Great for showing Burri's work. Ashamed to say I'd not heard of him, but feeling much better informed now, especially after seeing his work in the context of his contemporaries... More

A great exhibition. It worths the trip from everywhere in the world. Where Italy is leading the culture. Visit also the Essiccatoi del tabacco where the big works of Burri are on display.

We went to Citta di Castello to see the Burri Collection. My companion is a native Italian speaker from northern Italy, and he asked (in Italian) 4 different Citta' di Castello residents how to get there (it is not within the walled city). When we finally arrived, there was a sign (only in Italian) that said that the Burri Collection... More

Alberto Burri is one of the stars of Castello. This place shows a huge range of his work but is freezing cold in winter. Be aware that at the moment it is closed for renovation. Look out for the re opening. It's a great place to take children and has a small range of good publications.

Split in 2 parts between the 'Palazzo Albizzini' in Citta di Castello and the 'Essiccatoi del Tabacco' on the outskirt of this town, the Museum was set up by the great artist Alberto Burri before his untimely Death (1995). Even persons not very familiar with the esoterism of modern art will enjoy this fabulous display of different, esxciting works; 'Sacchi',... More

If you are on the PIero della Francesca trail, Burri makes it all fit. The early works are exactly that, but there is some mature Burri here that make it worth the visit. But the ex-tobacco drying sheds are even better...

One damp day in September, we took a drive to Citta di Castello in Umbria to see the Burri exhibition. We were most fortunate to arrive on a day which had free entry so we first viewed the exhibition in the Palazzo in Citta di Castello itself and then made our way 5 mins. south to the old tobacco factory... Easy to find, almost in the center of the city. Pleasant welcome. Big and beautiful, the Burri's mirror... Loved it!
