How long you spend at Watersides depends on what you choose to do in there. If you are dining at one of the many restaurants that HAVE been in there and SHOULD return after the renovations, then you will spend at least 2-3 hours. Watersides is undergoing a massive renovation right now, so the place is temporarily empty with tons... More

It was a nice place to visit, there were places to sit and relax. The only disappointment was there wasn't any restroom near there.

My family and I spent a few days in Norfolk thinking that Virginia Beach would be full of spring breakers. This attraction was what we were looking forward to most, figuring that it would be like the EpiCentre in Charlotte or the Jacksonville Landing. When we actually arrived however, there was absolutely NOTHING except for a Joe's Crab Shack where... More

sadly Waterside is pretty much run down, most shops and restaurants closed, only the view over across to see Portsmouth on the other side of the Elizabeth River is great, and you can take the "paddle steamer" across the river

I've often wondered what happened to Waterside which was once the pride of downtown Norfolk. Perhaps it was abandoned after Macarthur Mall came into play or maybe its demise was accelerated by the lack of cruise ship visitors. I think the potential is there but the City Planners are at odds with what to do with it. I'd like to... More

Norfolk waterside shopping complex built back in the 19 eighties is thankfully closed. But the waterside park / town Point Park area is a beautiful place. Come to walk the dog or to take some amazing photos of the shipyard at night. During the day this is the jumping off point for all things US Navy tour related including Nauticus... More

Took my sons here to visit when visiting family. They enjoyed all the sites and walking along the waterfront.

When my family and I lived in Hampton Roads, this was a must-see place we would take our visitors. Great stores and fabulous restaurants along the Norfolk riverfront. I'm sorry to hear that it appears to have fallen on hard times, I hope that it will rebound to its old glory days.

Growing up in the early 90s before the building of MacArthur Center this was a happening spot. Now it is nearly abandoned. Reminds me of something from a zombie movie or something. This surviving "festival marketplace" has very few stores left inside. At one point it had a few clubs and an arcade upstairs but those too have vanished in... More

This used to be the place to go for a good time in Norfolk but no more it is nearly abandoned. Only two restaurants. Maybe the spring and summer there will be more action.
