I went as part of a group to check out their Christmas lights and it was amazing. It's a drive through only but they also have a tram which is what we did. They provide hot chocolate and if it isn't horrible weather, I recommend that as you can see so much more!

The grounds and garden are beautiful... with many hidden trails among the azaleas with stone and bronze statues along the way... the canal and lakes are enchanting to walk along... also in Summer a pontoon boat tour is available... the ONLY thing that takes away from this beautiful place is the loud and very obvious Norfolk international Airport right beside... I've visited on several occasions. I love it. I'm sure I will go again. Another thing I like about it is the christmas lights.

This very large, pleasant walkable garden is situated along a large lake and seems to be designed with many outdoor "rooms'...all connected by walking trails. A peaceful, scenic and natural walk by the lake is a welcomed solace. The children's water park and fountains is a delight for the younger set and a pleasant experience for care givers with shade... Brought my parents here twice. Excellent relaxing place to spend time and enjoy the outdoors. The boat ride is wonderful and the breeze off the water refreshing in a hot day. In fact, most of the property provides shady spots throughout, but feel free to bring a parasol for some spots. Want to come back for their Christmas light display... More

We were there in April for the LanternFest. Beautiful, breath-taking displays but ALSO the azaleas themselves were magnificent. We've been there before, at Christmas time, and will be returning in several weeks, because the Christmas light display is mind-boggling. I signed us up as members, and, although I am glad we did, I do resent being sent mail in only... More

Walking through the gardens under the lights has been a family tradition for the past few years. We always look forward to it and are never disappointed with their display until this year. There were definitely fewer lights and displays than in years past. We were told by a shuttle driver that there were still displays that needed to be... More

We arrived later in the day on Saturday and we will surely return next November. Several of our college students who made the trip with me are majoring in Environmental Science or Forestry. Some are very interested in considering internship opportunities at the Norfolk Botanical Garden. The masses were arriving as we departed to meet up with some graduates of... More

Did this last night for granddaughter's 13th birthday as a family activity. It was extremely crowded, but the parking and people handling was well done. The walk is absolutely beautiful and will put you in the holiday mood. The walk is easy and accessible for strollers and wheelchairs. If you get to the end and it is enough walking- you... More

They really should tell newcomers who know nothing about how this is set up that until dark you cannot really see much. They happily sold us $80 in tickets at the opening and failed to mention that it was lame and not worth taking little kids to see until dark at 6pm. We certainly didn't have time or inclination to...
